Jacob Machogu Onkeo

The Clerk

Mr. Jacob Onkeo is a Masters holder of Education Planning and Economics of Education from Kenyatta University and Bachelor of Arts in Education from the same University. He is currently pursuing his PhD. Earlier he served as a teacher in several high schools and later promoted to Deputy Principal. He worked as a part time lecturer in Kisii University and Kenya Institute of Management.

He joined the County Assembly of Kisii as a Principal Research Officer and later promoted to the Director Chamber and Procedural Services and then a Deputy Clerk of the County Assembly. He acted as the Clerk and Secretary to the County Assembly Service Board since 2022 to 2024 12th November when he was confirmed as the substantive Clerk of the County Assembly of Kisii.

His duties include rendering of procedural advisory to the Speaker and Members of the County Assembly. He is also the Chief Administrative Officer, Accounting and authorized Officer of the County Assembly. He is also the Chief Advisor to the Speaker

Mr Onkeo is a dedicated and experienced public servant committed to promote transparency, accountability and good governance in Kisii County Assembly. He is also responsible in implementing all policy decisions of the County Assembly Board.
